Sarah Wakeford

Sarah Wakeford uses a combination of media, collage and fabric to create site specific artwork that is decorative, colourful and striking.

She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2005. Her previous work includes a series of artworks for the Northern General hospital in Sheffield as part of the Enhancing the Healing Environment programme.

She is interested in exploring how an image can take you on a mental journey, and how different colours and themes can have different emotive responses. She regards artwork as a doorway through which you can enter a special secluded world. Atmosphere, light, colour and texture are very important in her work.
