Callington Road: CTLM Café Furniture - Angus Ross

Angus Ross will design and make seating and furniture for the reception and café area of the new CTLM building. The furniture will help to define and enhance the space and provide comfortable and functional seating and tables for people using the café. This commission will create a welcoming, calming and uncluttered atmosphere as well as a unique identity to this entrance interior.

Draft Design for CTLM Café Furniture

For the CTLM café and reception area, Angus has designed a centre piece seating concept as well as separate circular tables and chairs. All the furniture will be made from solid European Ash. The sculptural centre piece incorporates the 2 pillars and is a series of 4 interconnected curved benches, which create a variety of different rest areas - some more intimate and sheltering, others more open and outward looking. The benches are at 4 heights (bar, table, stool, seat) enabling the space to be used in different ways.
