Callington Road: Older Adult Unit Wandering Trail - Fit Design

3D Designers Fit Design have created interactive artworks on a curved wall inside the Dementia Ward. This invites people to touch and look and encourages walking routes around the ward.

Following consultation with staff and service users, Fit came up with the idea of fixing a set of photos of Bristol to the clinic wall, making some of them interactive. They show familiar landmarks such as Bristol’s Suspension Bridge and the Balloon Festival.

The photos are linked by a painted river running around the wall, based on the course of the River Avon. The interactive elements include a push-button light box, a scent box and disks you can rotate which are pictures of balloons.
