Callington Road: Rehabilitation Units Water Features - Mat Chivers

Sculptor Mat Chivers has created 2 water features for the new rehabilitation units. They are sculpted from natural limestone boulders with the pattern of the River Avon’s course through Bristol and out to the sea. The water flows up through the middle of the stones onto sculpted surface and trickles over the sides.

As part of this commission, Mat led 2 workshops with residents – a visit to his studio in Devon to see his work in progress and a trip to the Cheddar and Avon gorges to photograph rocks and water.
