Fromeside - Medium Secure Services Courtyard Sculptures - Kate Munro

Two unique site specific sculptures 'Flight' and 'Tree of Light', by Kate Munro now bring life into two internal viewing courtyards which had little scope for planting. Designs were developed with services users and staff to have a sense of movement, freedom and change.

Flight is a flock of polished stainless steel figures mounted on poles 'flying' down into the courtyard and up and out the other side. The mirrored figures reflect light and the changing weather and sky. The poles are thin allowing the figures to move slightly in the wind.

Tree of Light is a group of shimmering tree-like structures, with leaves cast in recycled glass from old bottles. The trees move gently on a windy day and change according to the weather and light.
