Dementia Voice
"To promote service, development and best practice in dementia care"
Moving On is pleased to be working with Dementia Voice who will be advising artists in developing designs for arts commissions for the sites and spaces used by people with Dementia.
Dementia Voice provides consultancy, training and information on dementia care to other professionals working in the health, housing and social care field, which is based on best practice advice. Their access to research in the field of dementia care enables them to provide services that reflect the experiences of people with dementia so that their wishes are represented throughout our work.
Dementia Voice is the south west region's dementia services development centre and a partner organisation to Housing 21. Their area covers Gloucestershire to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and across to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Their work with Housing 21 enables them to work at a national level, especially with a focus on design and development.
As a team, they have a range of expertise in the development of services for people with dementia. Recently they worked alongside Cornwall Partnership Trust to develop a better understanding of person-centred dementia care and a template for Intermediate Care in partnership with Devon County Council. They are part of a steering group, commenting on an extra-care housing scheme for Sarsen Housing in Plymouth and their Director, Professor Jane Gilliard, is seconded to the Department of Health's Change Agent Team.
